Campaign “Who will tell them?”

‘Who will tell them?’ is the campaign we are carrying out to raise awareness, primarily at the local and regional levels, of the issues of equality between boys and girls in education, and to encourage them to make educational and career choices attuned to their individual skills and preferences. In this, we aim particularly to prompt more girls to choose education and careers in STEM, and to consider the jobs of the future.

The campaign is being rolled out via public events at local and regional levels in ten locations in Croatia. We convene the representatives of local and regional administration, education institutions, academic and civil sector, businesses and the media. At the national level, the campaign messages are being broadcast through digital and social media.

At the national-level, the campaign is sponsored by Fortenova Group, INA and Raifeissenbank Austria. The sponsors at the local level are Mobilisis (Varaždin, December 2022.) and SPAN (Čakovec, February 2023.).

Sponsor statements

„Annulling gender stereotypes in science is just one of the important segments of the comprehensive change in the way women are perceived in society. This change, as was well spotted by this initiative, starts at the very early age. In addition to the immediate family, teachers and other educators are at the forefront of this change, because they influence the creation of behavioral patterns, as well as the first choices with young people, including those that are linked to development of interests, and career choices. Fortenova Group, as the signatory of Diversity Charter, is a strong advocate for equal opportunities and non-discrimination in all the constituent companies, and our support to this campaign represents a part of that policy.“  Fabris Peruško, CEO and member of the Management Bord of the Fortenova Group

„The education sector and the employers have to come together to create jointly the future in which equality is promoted, and the value created by diversity is recognized in the workplace, and in all other contexts. Girls and boys can be equally successful in everything. It is our job to safeguard them from social prejudice, and give them opportunities to exercise their interests and abilities, and encourage them to fulfill their own ambitions and potential.” Etelka Kožar, HR Manager, Mobilisis.

“SPAN participates in various initiatives aimed at introducing as many women as possible to STEM and a career in IT. For example, in cooperation with Algebra, we encourage women who are in a less favorable position to gather the necessary knowledge through the “Work in Tech” project and direct their career into the IT sector. For young people, we implement the Span Academy professional practice project and we are always glad to see more and more young girls in the mostly male groups. It is for this reason that we joined this project in order to contribute to the education of girls and women in the STEM field.”Paulina Degiuli, human resources specialist.

“Girls’ and boys’ formative years bring certain challenges that need to be overcome for the sake of their life quality later on, so their attention should not be diverted by prejudice. This is why we proudly support this campaign, which focuses on our young ones’ most sensitive years. Our duty is to enable their development without any restrictions. I witness daily within our own organization that meritocracy is the only correct value system that leads to incredible results, and that it is extremely important to ensure conditions in which children can be whatever they want.”Liana Keserić, president of the RBA Management Board.
